I have one on my ankle and another in the crease of my elbow.They're called Baker's Cysts or Lipomas and are harmless.Mines are quite big.Years ago they used to wallop them with a book to disperse them.There's no cast iron reason pinned down for why we get them.My young son had to have one surgically removed.His was fist sized and (unusually) under the muscle and causing him pain.Normally there is no pain or discomfort but it depends where it is.Here endeth the lesson for the day. :)
