Does anyone know any really good prescription pills for acne??!
Question: only one i know of is tetracycline.
it's a twice a day pill you have to take on an empty stomach.
it clears you up pretty well i would say.
of course there are always health risks, but your doctor will tell you them if you get them prescribed.

um well my friend had a really bad case of acne and nothing worked for her. she went to a dermatologist and there they gave her pills called micromycin. but she got them at our trip to mexico. then she ran out and the pimples came back
The only "cure" for cystic acne is Accutane. Any other topical or oral medication taken for acne will only control it, but not deal with the root cause.
I have had cystic acne since my teen years and tried everything on the market. It wasn't until I was 30 years old that I finally went the Accutane route and I wish I had done it years earlier. I don't break out anymore at all.
I know there is controversy concerning Accutane, but to me, if taken properly under a good doctors supervision, the benefits more than outweigh the side-effects (especially for a man who does not have to worry about the pregnancy issue)
