there are many types of dystonia characterised by involuntary movements and spasms.they do not cause brain damage but are more likely to be symtyomatic of an underlying neurological disorder,or drug induced side-effect(neuroleptics etc,)primarirly involving the part of the brain known as the basal ganglia.
