Sounds like tonsillitis, but of course I have no way of knowing for sure. A doctor is your best bet.
I've had it a couple of times when I was a kid. Very, very painful.
As for your crying, I cried too. It hurts really bad.
You get depressed from not being able to swallow w/o pain, not being able to eat, sometimes not being able to sleep; in which you become tired from lack of sleep which can cause depression.
Hang in there and get in touch with a doctor ASAP. As for tonight, have your parent give your local hospital E.R. They usually pretty good about telling you what to do for such things until you can see a doctor.
Try sipping warm tea with honey. It'll hurt, but not as bad as you'd think. The warmth will also soothe.

Phone the doctors in the morning it could just be a throat infection or you could have tonsilitus or how ever its spelt
I agree with Mark P...if the pain gets to be too much and you cannot wait for the Dr. just go to the ER.
It could be several things. You're crying from the amount of pain you're in (it's happened to me). Tell your parents and get yourself to the doctor. If you're alone, or your parents don't believe you or something call 911, tell them the situation and you will be in the ER as soon as possible and they will help you. Get better and be well!!!
Dude your tonsils sound like they're inflamed you should tell your parents, maybe go on Web MD or something because that sounds pretty serious! Call a nurse or something go to the hospital maybe. You should really be at the doctors!
How do you know you don't have strep?? If you haven't gone to the doctor, you need to have it checked. You can have strep throat without having exudate (that white junk in the back of your throat). You should do some salt water gargels. Also take Tylenol or Ibuprofen. Suck on cold stuff. There is nothing a doctor can give you to help you unless you have a bacterial infection.
