Difficulty of breathing secondary to smoking?!

Question: can anyone tell me how smoking causes difficulty of breathing? like if it constricts the bronchi or something

Answers: can anyone tell me how smoking causes difficulty of breathing? like if it constricts the bronchi or something

the smoke causes bronchospasms and airway constriction. It also causes air trapping in the alveoli over time and causes COPD.

Chemicals in cigarettes over time weakens the small tubes in your lungs leading to the alveoli or air sacks. Normally when you exhale all your airways expand. When they become too weak they'll collapse and trap air inside so you dont exhale all the carbon dioxide like normal. More carbon dioxide means less oxygen.....
