If you go to the Emergency Room, they can't turn you away. When you get the bill, call the billing department and ask if they have a charity (I hate that word) program. They'll have you come in and ask you some questions and forgive some of the debt and the rest you'll have to pay ($50. a month in NC.Good Luck
you would be in massive debt
The hospital would treat you...but your bill...oh man...You'd probably never pay it off..
Dear Kelly_,
It depends on the state. If your are impoverished, they (the government) can't get anything...but don't count on that , because they could possibly take your future income....
If you do not have a preexisting disease you maybe able to obtain health care through an Open Enrollment period with most insurances.
Otherwise, if you have dependents, you owe it to yourself and them to take care of your health, that's maturity,so if it takes going to the Dept. of Human Services and getting a health card, do it!
I hope this has been helpful.

If you are in the US they would have to treat you. When you get home you will have another heart attack when you see the bill. They have to take payments as long as you are trying to pay .
This Patient Guide is written for the loved ones of heart patients who are dealing with the short-term stress that comes with a test, procedure or recent diagnosis of heart disease. It explains why support is so important to a loved one with heart disease. It also offers practical strategies on how to support a loved one while also taking care of yourself.
Well you could do what I did: don't go for treatment.
If you do go, you could see if you qualify for any kind of reduction, but I wouldn't count on it:

Having insurance is no protection from bankruptcy anyway:
When 75% of the people who declare bankruptcy over medical bills ARE INSURED, then insurance is CLEARLY not the answer.
