Why is my doctor having me have an EEG, when my MRI of my brain said no acute pr!
Question: I had 2 seizures two weeks ago. I stopped driving, and saw my doctor, right away. No reason has been found. I DID have epileptic seizures from birth to age 6 yrs. I am, now, 63 yrs old.

An MRI can show structural abnormalities, for example, a tumor. An EEG shows the electrical activity of the brain, which an MRI does not show. You can have a brain that is structurally normal, but has abnormal electrical impulses.
It would be best to ask the doctor this. It can be many reasons. The doctor should tell you why. I know sometimes they hate to answer questions from patients, but he/she has to tell you.
