Who suffers from coldsores?!
Question: I suffer from them quite regularly, especially when I'm tired, sick, or under stress. Today was my art exam, so I was tired and stressed, and this morning I woke up with 3 coldsores, ugh!
Does anybody know any good cures? Virasorb works well for me.

After trying and testing millions, Zovirax is the only thing I use. I only get a couple a year thank goodness, but its always when I'm over tired or stressed, so when on holidays, travelling or working loads, I always have a wee tube of it with me. I think its cheaper to buy it over the counter but you can get it on perscription by its medical name: Acilover.

nothing works for me in fact coldsore creams prevent the sore from drying out and scabbing over so they last longer. i have never in all my 39 years had a a coldsore on my lips, i get them on my nose, up my nose and under my eyelids, when i was a child i used to have to go to hospital to have my eyes prised open and cleaned it was that bad. sunshine brings mine out, we went to the dom rep in jan and i came home with a nose full and i mean full of coldsores, i was so ashamed i hid my face under a cap for the last 5 days of my holiday.
Yes, I get cold sores and I rarely use the medicines available. I always use rubbing alcohol to dry it out faster. Yes, it does hurt when you apply it but it's well worth the few seconds of pain. Plus, it goes away a lot faster and doesn't get as nasty looking.
