If you own a dog,?!

Question: has it developed a sensitivity to detecting your hypoglycemic reations? I know that for an astronomical amount of money one can buy a dog trained to do this. But, I was curious if any owners of dogs have noticed their dogs behavior notifying them, or differing when their blood glucose level drops. l am serious but, lol my extended family tells me this is a rationalization for me to buy a dog. If dogs do this, it would really eliminate some serious problems I have had in the past and concerns about the future. Thanks

2 of my dogs have licking fits at my face when I start going Hypo!! Normally I don't let the dogs lick my face. just hands and legs. The Chihuahua is best at this, but the Sheltie is getting more in the swing of letting me know.

The other two are bumps on logs and we sort of ignore each other.

The Chi had really bad fits the day my glucose dropped suddenly to 35!! She almost bit my daughter for daring to interfere.

Yes, I think any dog that is really close to you can tell when you are not "right" and learn to tell others you are in a bad way, even allerting you to the fact that you had better do some testing.

Besides, Dogs are good companions for anyone to have. I recommend that all people have some kind of pet that responds to love and affection. We can tell them things we wouldn't tell another soul, and they keep the best secrets of any other soul on earth!!

its possible
but my dog
just sits around
like a bump on a log
all day
crying and fussing
for attention
and a walk

My dad is diabetic and his dog always wants to lick his skin when his sugar is too high. I don't know if the sugar comes out in the sweat or what but yes it is possible for a non trained dog to have reactions to this.

Hi Teddy Bear, sounds as if you are on something? Is it LOVE?
I guess in mirror reflection, God is a Dog! So i guess if you get a dog, God will speak 2 you and ya future will be bright?
I guess we can all talk words, can we not?
Why is your wife not your best friend instead of an animal, bear bear?
Did you not learn the art of loving her up?
Humans can actually speak clear words 2 each other and are much warmer to cuddle up close 2!
I dunno wat others think but it turns me off 2 get kissed and licked on the lips by a Dog with bad breath! but each 2 their own!
Cheers and I hope your communication in love gets better! All the best from delf.
