Very slight stuttering?!

Question: for the past 2 days i have been having (twice now) a very slight stutter, i am not sure if i would even call it that because when i see myself not saying the word right i stop and then can say it just fine, it only happened once yesterday and once today, i was taking marcobid for a uti and just stopped that monday. i was also taking Ritalin for 14 years but stopped that over a week and a half ago, could this be a side effect from being off ritalin? its not noticable but bothers me will it most likley go away?

It probably is because of the medication...but if it continues, I would see a doctor about it, just to get a professional opinion.

Go back on the Ritalin and see if it stops.

Talk to your Dr. about this..... maybe you need to go off the meds more slowly.... I don't know b/c I have never had any exp. with those meds. It sounds like it might be a side affect, but only a Dr. would know. Or you could google side effects of Ritalin and Marcobid. That's great that you are conscious when you begin to stutter and correct yourself. You body is going thru some major adjustments, so don't worry too much- everything will adjust after awhile.

Do you have any other symptoms (tiredness, unable to focus?). It could just be a couple of bad days and be nothing. But if you've come off medication suddenly, it could be a side efffect. Did your doctor take you off and are you being monitored?

I took myself off anti-depressants years ago, and got weird symptoms (my eyesight went swirly and I felt cold all the time) so I went back off and had to be weaned off them by my doctor. Drugs that are meant to 'correct' your brian are powerful and so you have to be careful.

See if it gets worse, and mention it to your doctor.
