The foot odor is caused by bacteria feeding on the dead skin on the dirty socks or shoes.

One way to stop foot odor is to keep them dry, clean, and moisture free. Use soap and water to wash and clean the feet everyday and if possible several times a day if you perspire often or notice frequent odor from the feet. Using talcum powder and dusting the feet after you washed them as well as sprinkling powder into the sock is another way to prevent or reduce foot odor.

Wash and change socks frequently as the odor usually comes from bacteria breeding in the dead skin that has accumulated or collected in the socks or the shoes. Also wear socks or shoes that allow the feet to "breathe". For example, wear cotton socks, don't wear rubber or plastic shoes. Leather shoes are better.

If you are prone to getting foot infections as well as foot odor then try to spray the feet especially between the toes with anti-fungal spray as well as talcum powder. Corn starch works well in reducing foot odor. Sprinkling the feet or inside the shoes with cornstarch will also help to reduce foot odor.

Another way to reduce foot odor is to buy an odor eater insert for the shoes. There are many types and sizes available to buy in most drugstores or n pharmacies. These inserts usually contain active charcoal so will absorb the moisture from the feet and thus will help to reduce or prevent foot odor.

Soaking the feet regularly in certain agents will also help prevent odor. Some products that works are sodium bicarbonate, vinegar, or even the tannin found in tea bags have found to be helpful in eliminating or reducing this condition. Dissolve one to two tablespoon of sodium bicarbonate into a foot bath container with warm water, You can also add some aroma therapy or herbs, like lavender, into the water to help relax your body and mind as well as your feet.

Keep your shoes clean inside and outside. If you have sneakers that are made of fabric you can buy special foot containers or laundry shoe bags to place the sneakers into so you can wash the sneakers in the washing machine and not ruin the shape. Keep the shoes in a dry cool place when not wearing them. Allow the shoes to air daily and sprinkle with odor absorbing sprays that are specifically made for this purpose. Check out the foot section in the local drugstores and you can often buy many foot odor products available to combat this problem.

If the problem persists and the odor is really bad then there could be an underlying problem medical problem that could be causing this condition. You should go and get a check up and consult a medical professional and/or podiatrist to get their opinions and advice. Also , take a good look at your diet and nutrition because food can also be a culprit in causing foot odor by increasing perspiration from the body and feet. -

get him some good leather shoes and tell him to get his funky self in the shower....you can buy him some aveno shower gel that will keep him from getting dry spots on his skin and even offer to help him get his back if that will get him in there.... come on girl take charge of your man

Good boots.odor eaters in the boots
good foot spray
and wash his nasty A** every day

Here's what he needs to do:

1) shower everyday!
2) apply deodorant/antiperspirant spray on his feet before he puts his socks on
3) tell him if he doesn't fix his odor problem, then no sex for him!

he can also buy new shoes (old shoes tend to keep odor in)

I watched this episode on Oprah and Dr.Oz said to soak the foot in a basin of teabags and warm water, but not hot. It should be done everyday.

The tea bag thing works. My daughter's friend did it and she had very smelly feet. Tell your husband to take a shower EVERY day. If his skin is dry don't make the water too hot so it won't dry out his skin. Also, tell him to wash only the "important" parts everyday and the other (arms, legs, etc) every other day if he thinks he is too dry. Also, he must moisturize after every shower. Good luck

Eeeeeew, move out !!
