Yes as long as you use precautionary measures, washing hands, wearing gloves, wearing masks, etc.

Yes you can. But if you work with immunocompromised patients (transplant, AIDS, burn, neonatal patients) you could be at risk for transmitting the virus to them while you have an active outbreak (depending on the location of the herpes). As long as you use appropriate isolation technique (gloves, masks) and hand wash frequently, you and the patients should be fine. If you are working in a non-patient contact area, like the laboratory, then no worries for transmission to others.

I would say yes as long as you are careful not to spread the disease to the people that you work with. If it's genital herpes you shouldnt have a problem, but you need to be more careful with HSVI as it's on your mouth and easier to spread.

Of course you can. 80% of the population has some form of herpes. There is no screening test for medical personnel for herpes. If herpes excluded you from working in the health care field, there would be a huge shortage of employees.

So yes, 25% of all doctors, nurses, dentists, PN's you name it, all may have herpes. The chance of you getting it from anyone of them is almost nonexistent unless you are having sex with them!
