Could our illnesses be related?!

Question: My mother and I, who live in the same house, are both experiencing seemingly different symptoms, yet we are both sick at the same time.
I, have an earache/headache, and the doctor said it was "swimmers ear - outer ear infection". I'm also super tired, have muscle aches, nausea, and an all around "don't feel good" feeling.
My mother, has a severe neck ache/headache. Her shoulders and neck are very painful, and her doctor (not the same as mine) told her, its "neck strain". She also has the super tired, muscle aches, and "doesn't feel good".
My question, is could our illnesses be related? We didn't think so at first, as my earache started after I got water in my ear, and my Mother has a history of neck problems. Yet, it just seems so coincidental that we are both sick at the same time. What are the chances this is a virus?

They are related: a) genetically, b) the same environment, c) the same nutrition, d) the same germs. You should go to holidays for some weeks, far away in the sun.

Is any one else in the home sick? Have your home checked for carbon monoxide. About 10 years ago my wife and I experienced about the same things as you and your mother, tired a lot, mysterious aches and pains, and all around feeling like crap. Found out our gas stove was emitting carbon monoxide. Replaced the stove and all is well now.

I'd say that you could both have the same virus. Could you both have been exposed to mono? I'd ask the dr to check it out.

Always trust your intuition! It maybe helpful if you and your mother go to the same doctor for a double-check up.
