just talk to them and tell them you dont want them to get sick....also tell them when they smoke you get headaches
If they've smoked for years, it is difficult for them. They probably know the risks, and can't quit. Ask them not to smoke around you, it might slow them down a bit.
Honestly, I can understand not wanting your parents to smoke BUT it is an addiction. You can ask your parents to respect you by not smoking around you but you cannot make them stop nor smoke less. The fact is the more you raise the topic, the more they will smoke, a smokers brain is changed by the addiction, and anti smoking advertisements, statements, etc, stimulant the need to smoke.
just tell them to stop. say it bugs you because you love them and dont want to see them get sick. and you dont want second hand smoke
