KNOWLEDGE about DIURETICS?!

Question: When a diuretic is taken, which makes one have to urinate more, is it normally within an hour or two after the med is taken, or is it a 24 hour thing, where ...the person, (or in my case, my pooch!!) will just have to go all the time? thanks

It depends on the type of diuretics you are taking. Diuretics like Thiazides( Hydrochlorothiazide) has onset of 2 hours and a duration of 6-12 hours. Loop diuretics like Furosemide have an onset of 20-60 minutes and peaks at 1-2 hours, so its duration is about 6-8 hours.
