Va disabilty?!
Question: is is very difficult for a vietnam vet to get disabilty due to him. my husband has copd from agent orange and also ptsd. i would be very interested in any one's personal story

the VA is not an easy one to win over with a medical disability issue. it's a long drawn out process that can take years but if you have proof that it exists or happened in the military or b/c of the military then go for it. especially if he still has his old medical records. as proof. does he have any claim at all like a 0% disability? if he has a 0% or more it's not going to be as hard to work with the VA but if he doesn't have a 0% at the least then you've got a long road ahead of you. Just go for it regardless, the staff at any(well most) VA's will at least show you how to go about things.
My mom drew off of my dad because he passed away from lung cancer, which they could not prove was or was not attributed to agent orange (he was a vietnam vet as well). I am not sure how long it took her to recieve money, he may have gotten it before he died, i don't remember...I also recieved compensation as well, since i was his minor child, and I am now about to recieve money from them to go to college...from my personal experiences, I have not really had any problems dealing with the VA...try checking out their site at:
