Keflex is a fairly broad spectrum antibiotic. It should work, however, I am wondering why she didn't give you ear drops as well. You are going to feel bad for a while. There aren't any quick fix meds out there, unfortunately. :)

if you have been taking the antibioics and are not feeling better by friday. i'd call her and see if a different antibiotic is warranted.

you could probably take tylenol or motrin for the pain and inflamation, but over the counter meds will not make the infection fo away.

you can take tylenol with antibiotics. no problem. but be careful taking too much tylenol, as it can really mess up your kidneys. motrin can mess up your tummy. just be wise about what you are taking and read the lables to make sure you aren't taking the same thing in two differnt comination-meds. (like sinus meds)

try flushing your sinuses.
call your doc and let them know that the anti-bios aren't working well and see if they will give you a diff one

this happened to me last year and once about ten years ago. the infection i had was anti-biotic resistant and i had to change inthe middle of treatment.

by the way. ear drops won't do anything. ear infections are *behind* the ear drum and droips won't reach that. the eustatian tubes go from the throat to the ear... and that is likely to be congested and full of the infection.

good luck!

Antibiotics would need 48-72hrs before they can really control the infection. Your tonsillitis, sinusitis and ear infection would be covered already by the antibiotic. If you are already taking the antibiotics for 3 days and there seems to be no improvement, go back to your doctor.

Your paracetamol (Tylenol) would help control fever and some of the pain. For pain secondary to a clogged sinus, decongestants may be added. Home remedies that you can do to relieve some of the discomfort would be a warm saline gargle 2x a day and steam inhalation to open up the sinuses.
