Anybody know anything about palpitations?!

Question: Lately, I have been getting a really fast heart beat and feeling dizzy and sick. Am getting a bit worried. Any ideas?

It could be related to many things.

Call you doctors office and tell them exactly what you wrote here - dizzy/sick/fast heart beat.

My guess is they will tell you to come in right away or go to emergency. ( don't drive yourself- dizzy)

Don't get scared about it. It's a routine check out in an emergency room. The big thing is that you don't want to put it off. If on the off chance it is a heart problem - damage is never repaired. When you go in can make a huge difference in the rest of your life.

Don't worry about it being " nothing". There is only one way to tell if it is nothing or not and it is far better to be told it's nothing than ending up very, very sick for the rest of your life or dead.

Could be anything, go see your doctor.

I think you should see your GP. as soon as possible. Palpitations don`t usually make you feel sick. They tend to make you have panic attacks. Maybe it`s something else so do seek help...Good Luck.

Could be anxiety. You start to notice your heart beat and getting anxious about it, then the anxiety makes it worse.

Anxiety can make you feel sick, have pins and needles in your hands and dizzy too because you breathe too fast.

Also too much coffee can give you a palpatation, then that can start a cycle of anxiety

Older men should especially get them checked out as it can sometimes be something more serious and it can put anybody's mind at rest to get it checked by a doctor. Then once it has been checked, it usually stops the anxiety cycle.

I get these from time to time. They come on for no particular reason, I can be sitting quietly, or waking briskly to the shops. I have discovered that if I take a few deep breaths they stop.
Sometimes it happens after I go to bed, and they feel very strong. I think the worry they cause me makes them worse, so I take some deep breaths. hold them, expell the air slowly, and they go away. Hope this helps.

I feel this way all the time now. I would research electrosensitivity.

First before you start worrying consider if you have been eating regularly as a lack of nutrition can cause shakes, dizziness, a sick feeling and a rapid heart beat. If you are not eating and skipping meals it can trigger a state of mild shock in even the healthiest person. Second if you drink too much coffee, like my old ten coffee's a day habit ,then the high levels of caffeine put your body into a state of shock similar to mild food poisoning. It could be a problem with low blood iron or even high blood iron from too many iron supplements. Are you getting enough hours of sleep every night as you could be getting sleep deprivation sickness? It could be a irregular heart beat or a reaction to a medicine you have recently been prescribed, a thyroid problem or other medical problem . Your best option is to go to the doctor without delay and have a full examination done.
