No. Diabetes is not caused by eating too much sugar. Type I diabetes is when all the the cells that produce insulin are destroyed and the body can produce no insulin on its own and needs injections. Type II diabetes is when the cells that produce insulin produce either too little insulin or the body is no longer sensitive to its own insulin. In either case, the blood sugar is unpredictable unless strict monitoring and diet and medication is adhered to. However, if you have a predisposition to diabetes Type II through heredity, you could, and this is not a definite, wear your cells out more quickly that produce insulin by eating too much sugar. This is because Type II diabetes is commonly linked to a much earlier onset of silent insulin resistance. Insulin lowers the blood sugar by forcing glucose into the cells. If you are resistant to your insulin, it will take a greater amount of insulin to lower your sugar to an acceptable level. It is theorized that one cause of Type II diabetes is that the pancreas (where insulin cells are located) gets worn out from years of overwork. So, you could possibly wear your pancreas out that much quicker by eating far too many carbs as your pancreas will work even harder than if you avoided simple sugars and limited complex carbs. Does this make sense to you?

You can get diabetes from being grossly overweight, and you can make diabetes or a predisposition to diabetes worse by eating sugar, but it dosen't actually cause the disease by itself.

yes if you have a bad diet or eat rubbish like macdonalds and hungry jacks or kfc you are bound to become a diabetic in future years eat well fruit veges fish and meat all in balance and you should be fine everything in moderation your pancreas produces insulin and if those insulin producing cells get damaged like die of then you get diabetes take very good care of yourself eat healthy that is why alot of people around the world are fat because they cannot control there eating habits some people are big because of no fault of there own but people who have food addiction habbits just like smokers usually end up not very happy healthy people just because something is quick and easy doesnt mean its good for you grabbing a piece of fruit is better for you than waiting inline at maccas for junk food that will help to kill you in the end like most people these days its a throw away society look up in google what causes diabetes

If you have a family history of diabetes, that can cause it too. Also, the more sugar you eat, the more insulin your pancreas has to make. Over time, those cells can die, causing you to become diabetic...

it depends on your family history,,, remember,, diabetes cannot be contagious, it is only heredited from family members..but in some instance that you eat lots of sugary foods, your insulin(the hormones which control blood sugar metabolism) can fail to manage your blood sugar and therefore, youre sugar will rise above normal,, beware cause once diabetes hit you, it will stay forever.. i have said this i am a diabetic myself...

you can not get diabetes from eating too much sugar, diabetes comes from your pancreas not creating enough insulin or is creating too much insulin to control your bodies blood sugar. Eating too much sugar will cause you to have cavities, weight gain, high cholesterol and which all lead to numerous of other problems.

no. unless you are overweight or have the genetics for diabetes...sugar will not cause diabetes.

you can be born with diabetes. basic unit of heredity: the basic unit capable of transmitting characteristics from one generation to the next. It consists of a specific sequence of DNA or RNA that occupies a fixed position locus on a chromosome
