Would it be possible to be allergic to Paracetamol?!

Question: I've felt a bit off colour, swollen glands, dry throat, runny nose, and took some cold rememdy containing Paracetamol, and i honestly think i have felt worse after taking it. This has happened before. A couple of hours later, i feel my throat more swollen, aching muscles, and a heavy tired feeling.

Hypersensitivity to paracetamol does exist, though it is rare. I think there is little chance that you are however suffering from it, it is very much more likely that all of t the symptoms you describe are due to still due to your viral illness.

Yes, its possible to be allergic to anything, i mean some people are allergic to the sun, you should probably ask your doctor and describe your 'symptomns'
:)

yes, it's possible, my nan is allergic to paracetamol

Sure is. You can have an allergic reaction to anything, my Mum is allergic to aspirin and the sticky stuff on plasters.

Yes i have a friend that is allergic to paracetamol and aspirin.

Talk to your GP if you think you are allergic
Hope you are better soon

People can be allergic to anything, but it could also just be your symptoms intensifying. Allergic reactions can take a big range of forms such as redness, rash, swelling and shortness of breath.

You mention swelling in your throat but you had that before you took the pill. If that continues to get worse, or if you start to have any other symptoms that aren't normal for a bad cold, you should call your doctor right away. Otherwise it may just be that you've got a really bad cold and it's getting worse before it gets better.

Paracetamol isn't designed to stop or cure an infection or virus, just to make the symptoms a bit less painful. The only thing to do with a cold is wait it out. Take plenty of fluids and rest, keep a window open for fresh air, and try steam inhalations with lavender oil to help the runny nose and homey and lemon for the sore throat.

yes my Son is allergic to them, his face swells up and he gets a red rash ,ibuprofen does it too

yes, two of my kids are allergic to aspirin and NSAIDs.
