Who gets brain tumor? How can it cure and in which age here is great probability !

Question: Hi,

Anyone can get a brain tumor. I have done quite a bit of research on this subject myself, as I have a brain tumor myself. Mine is called a grade 2 astrocytoma. Even though it is low-grade (slow-growing), it is inoperable (due to location). I am 39 years old, and a female. They do not know the exact causes of brain tumors. Primary brain tumors are those which originate in the brain. Secondary are those that come from another part of the body that had cancer cells (also known as metastases). Brain tumors have been seen in all ages. There is no way to predict if you will get one or not. Doctors believe that some may run in families, but don't know why. Because they do not have an exact cause, and every tumor is different, and locations in the brain affect different parts of your body and sense, it is difficult to say what the outcome of some of these tumors will be. As far as a cure, there really isn't an exact answer to this, as every tumor is different and responds to different treatments. Some of the tumors can be completely cured with surgical removal, others are considered inoperable because of their location and it's danger of neurological problems if removed. Sometimes chemotherapy and radiation therapy can cure and sometimes they cannot. Because so much is unknown or uncertain, there is no way to say that what will work on one tumor will work on another. I hope this helps. If you need more info, you can email me at deedeelynn68@yahoo.com, and I will try to help you out as best I can.

Take care,

there is no exact answer as to who can get a brain tumor. The causes are not known as yet. However, anyone can develop it. It is more common in the old age or from 10 to 21 yrs of age. It is one type of cancer which is still being researched. Oncologists are trying to find medications which could properly treat it.

I was diagnosed with a 'brain tumor" at the age of 43. It was located between the parts of the brain that control memory and speech. After numerous tests and a lot of fear, it was decided to not do anything about it. Two years later, it was gone so they decided it was a cyst.

My sister also had a tumor (benign) near her pituitary gland which required surgery. She was about the same age I was and fully recovered.

Each case is different.

I hope this helps.
