Your doctor was right. The normal levels are between 4.0 and 6.0. I was told that I'm diabetic too. My normal levels during fasting were over 10.0. I'm not on medication yet. My doctor gave me a diet to follow. Told me to exercise more. And lose some weight. So far it seems to be working. And he sent me on a Diabetes course that really helped me too. From some of the answers I've read, the Americans seem to have a different type of scale for measuring blood sugar levels.

What kind of meter are you using? 70-120 is in the normal range (if you have some kind of conversion for your single digit meter.) If your running over 140 there may be trouble coming, and above 160 diabetes has set in. If you are overweight and diabetic, it may be able to be controlled by diet, or tablets, if not insulin may be in your future. Eating healthy and exercising are your best bet because diabetes is serious business. Good luck to ya.

The Normal Level For a Non-Diabetic is 5.8 On Average. Anything Between 5 and 8 is Good, But The Lower The Better. The Sugar Level Tends To Rise 2 Hours After Eating A Meal. I Honestly, Dont Think You Are Diabetic At All. Maybe Pre-Diabetes, Im Not Sure.
