I have had the ara-c for aml, same age. I am actually allergic to it. I break out in this horrible horrible red rash that itches and burns from head to toe. I use aloe and eucerin and some other tub of gupe that they give me to help, but it doesnt help and lasts for about a week.

I also have severe nausea with it. I did not loose my hair with the ara-c though.

It sounds pretty bad, but it could be worse and its only temporary.

Dont forget about neutropenia and the neutropenic diet. Dont forget about wearing a mask when out in public, constant hand washing, and DONT be around anyone that is sick.

You will likely be extremly tired and feel like crap. Make sure you tell your docs all your side effects and symptoms. For most ppl, with the right med combo your side effects can be controlled to a tolerable level.

it sounds like it has the same active ingredient.. if it is bright orange, then it is probably the same.
I found that my pee went a bright orange, like lucozade and i had extreme stomach cramps.. i was up all night with them. then later on i had extreme leg cramps during the night.
Also i was really sick.. vommitting all the time.
and you no the feeling you get when you press a bruise, well i had that all over my body
