Ok so I've been using finacea for 4 weeks(azelaic acid) Gel, 15%?!

Question: Ok So I've been using it for four weeks along with solodyn and today I went back to the dermatologist. The Finacea has itched during application each time, but not severely. My question is should I stick with the finacea, or use differin at night and clindamycin phospate lotion in the morning, or finacea at night and clindamyc9in phosphate lotion in the morning?

Well, what is it that you have? Finacea is rosacea medication, and Solodyn is an acne medication -- do you have both? Finacea is an excellent medication for rosacea, and Solodyn is an excellent medicine for acne. However, both will make you more sensitive to the sun, so you will need to use sunscreen unless you want to be very miserable on your vacation and experience the worst sunburn of your life.

You can use Differin and clindamycin in conjunction with the Finacea -- there is no contraindication against using these together. However, Differin and clindamycin are both acne medications and not rosacea medications. Neither of these will help with rosacea -- they will help with acne. Differin will take some time to begin working, though. (It is a retinoid, so it will definitely make you sensitive to the sun, as well.)

Nothing is likely to have you completely clear in 10 days -- so keep your expectations realistic. If you have extremely oily skin, ask your doctor for a prescription for Clinac BPO, it's a very excellent medication for acne with oily skin. If you don't have oily skin, it will over-dry your skin far too much.

You may experience some irritation with these medications, so be prepared to use a moisturizer (oil-free for sensitive skin).
