My vision becomes blurry and I get disy when I stand up sometimes?!

Question: This only happens about 1-3 times a month, but when I stand up, I suddenly become dizzy. Then my vision becomes all blurry and grays out gradually, but then I get it back within about 5 or 10 seconds. I mean, it DOES feel kind of cool, but I just don't want there to be something wrong...

Diagnosis, Dr. House?

lol..it could be LUPUS! (please tell me you get that joke...please!!)
but honestly, its just because you got up too fast. its like Vertigo, you get lightheaded from sitting up too fast, your brain cant handle that sudden and fast change of position.
nothings really wrong unless you actually pass out! just try to not get up so fast, it will still happen, just not as often.

wow i've had this feeling before. I think it could mean you're slightly dehydrating, beause i've felt this when i was really hot and sometimes in the mornings when i first wake up, until i drink a glass of water. I really don't know exactly why this happens though, but this could be part of it.

This has happened to me before. It happens when your heart has been pumping gently because you were sitting or lying down and it didn't have to pump the blood up a big verticals distance. When you suddenly stand up gravity pulls the blood away from you head because you heart wasn't pushing hard enough. After a couple seconds you heart adjusts to the new load and everything is good. If it starts happening often (several times a week) then you may want to see a doctor about possibly having low blood pressure.

Look up orthostatic hypotension. It is not vertigo. Vertigo is an inner ear disorder.
