Blood pressure = 89/55?!

Question: I had an appointment with my nurse practitioner today and my blood pressure read 89/55.
She was surprised but not concerned. I, seeing as well, it's MY body..am. I've been blacking out a lot lately, and I drink plenty of fluids.. what's the problem? What could this cause? Should I be concerned?

It really depends on what your normal BP is. If it is usually low like that then it might not be a problem. However, if you are passing out and getting light headed then your probably suffering from anemia and need to seek futher medical attention. I would go see a doctor and demand blood work to see what is really going on.

u have low blood pressure. eat a lot more stuff with vitamins.

You have pretty low blood pressure. I had low blood pressure for most of my life. There are medications for it, but since the nurse didn't seem too concerned it might be worth your while to visit a doctor to get a second opinion - he or she might want to put you on something.
In the meantime, yes passing out is all part of low blood pressure, basically when you stand up to quickly or whatever, it's taking the blood too long to get to your head. I don't know what your diet is like, but you should definitely be eating all the right stuff (meat, fish, fruit & veg etc.)

I found this website which has some info... hope it helps :)
