Brain tumor or other medical condition that causes violence?!

Question: Have you ever heard of any kind brain tumor or other general medical problem that could likely make a person violent? Perhaps only spurts of anger or rage? If so, what is it called formally?

Exclude anything cause by drugs or mental illness per se. And before any of you wise-guys say PMS (or related) that's excluded too.

Yes that is possible. If the tumor presses on certain parts of the brain or if it causes irregularities in brain activity. Psycomotor seizures which are one form of epilepsy can do that also as could certain chemical inbalences or an injury of certain parts of the brain or a problem resultion from previopus brain surgery. Because there are many different possible causes there is no one term or diagnosis that would apply.

A psychoneurologist would probably be the specialist to consult tho a regular neurologist could be helpful. Generally you would need a referral from a primary care physician to these specialists. If this is a real problem someone is having please do encourage them to get a medical evaluation ASAP. Solving the problem could be as simple as one or 2 pills a day to counteract irregular brain activity or chemical inbalence or as seriuos as surgery but these things do not solve themselves and tend to worsen over time. As it is if the problem is real not theory this person could be or become a danger to themselves and others.

It is rare but it can happen. Here is a link that may be interesting.http://en.allexperts.com/q/Brain-Tumors-...
