Why am i having breathing problems?!
Question: Lately i've been experiencing a shortness of breath, tightening in my chest, and it feels like there's a lump in my throat.
I don't think it's asthma because I'm not coughing, or wheezing, and it often comes and goes.
When I'm out having fun it never bothers me, but once I'm not doing anything, it starts acting up. I even get it before tests/exams or when I'm on the computer--it's really weird!
I was told it was all in my head but it happens everyday and it's really frustrating. I try to relax and breathe slowly but it doesn't seem to be working.

Sounds exactly like my problem I know the symptoms .. I am sure it's anxiety.. it also gives you physical symptoms.. see your doctor about it.. when you are distracted you don't get it.. but when you think and all is quiet you get it...and it does affect the breathing..you probably do hyperventilate without knowing it.. I don't think you have a heart or lung problem but by all means get checked out anyhow... I believe you suffer from anxiety.... talk to the doctor..I am sure that's true...
