I'm positive for chlamydia? Is that possible my husband would be positive fo!

Question: I just have my papsmear 5 days ago and the Doctors office called me that I have chlamydia? I told my husband to get tested so we went to the clinic to get tested for chlamydia. After 2 days we found out the result he is negative. I was surprised of my result because I don't have different partner. In my whole life only my husband I have sex. Before I got pregnant I'm negative for chlamydia. I give birth last jan 2008 and then after 3 months I have papsmear then they told me that I have chlamydia. My baby doesn't have any problem. I was so confused about my result.

get re-tested, just in case the lab mixed up your sample.

You should make them re-test as well as your husband in case they made a mistake on either yours or your husband's test. If yours is positive and his is negative, well then you're not being honest about having only one partner. It is absolutely IMPOSSIBLE for you to be positive and your husband negative. If he turns out positive after all and you were negative after you gave birth, then your husband has cheated on you and gave you chlamydia.

maybe he had it and was already treated

or maybe one of the tests were wrong

I would definately get retested because false positives can occur.... if it comes back positive again and you have never been with anybody else I would consider asking your husband to be tested also to see if maybe his was a false negative.... if that occurs then one of you has been with someone else....

It could be they got your results mixed up, but it could also be your husband was just a carrier and cheated and then gave it to you or was treated for it before you told him to get tested...

You both need to be retested - the chances of false negatives is lower than false positives - he might have it.
