Nope [weight gain], and it Can [have some side effects].
You might get an upset tummy shortly after the "doxy" for a bit.
Many people find relief drinking something w/ ginger, like dark gingerale (pref. Diet) or a good Ginger tea w/ honey.
Also, do NOT take any calcium-rich foods (i.e: dairy) or calcium supplements anywhere near your doxy. (+2 hrs away) as it lessens it's potency, by tying up some of the drug.
Finally, stay out of the sun as much as you can until you're off any " 'cycline" for a couple days, to avoid sunburn. It sensitizes your skin, where it tends to concentrate.
(Of course, that's the whole point!... ;)
(P.S: 4 - 6 weeks of doxy is becoming the norm for treatment of early Lyme. Congrads, you got it early... you'll be CURED. :)
Use sunscreen outside. It makes your skin photosensitive and you may burn easily. It might also upset your stomach - capsules are less irritating that tablets. Make sure you eat something when you take your doxy.
it is a antibotic it should not make you gain wt
