Ohhh, you poor thing! I've been there and I don't even have red hair and terribly fair skin so I can just imagine...and you're right, we all make the mistake of forgetting the sunscreen occasionally so I won't lecture, either.
The painkiller theory is a good start. Try Tylenol to start. Keep on with the aloe and maybe some lukewarm/tepid showers or baths to keep the pain to a minimum. No oils or creams should be put on the skin as this will just hold the heat in. Try putting the aloe in the fridge to cool it even further. If things don't improve after a couple of days, see your doctor. Good luck, honey.

take some pain killers
i mean there isn't much you can do
you can try buying some sprays
they help.. but if it gets really bad like huge blisters popping and you see signs of infection go to a doctor to get it checked out.

Put Aloe gel on your sunburn. Hopefully that will relieve the pain.

Noxema can cool the burning. Plain yogurt can take the sting out of it. Take a bath in cool water with an Oatmeal bath powder. Aveeno makes a good one.

go to the store and get a can of solarcaine it is a spray with moisturizers and also has medication for pain relief, you're gonna need all this so the skin won't tighten up and crack as it heals and this will also help with the itching when it starts to heal. Trust me i'm fair skinned and have been extremely burned and this works great. Stay out of the hot water!!!!!!!! take cool baths

I also have fair skin and burn easily, so I know how you feel. Unfortunately, you're all ready doing just about everything you can. Take a couple of ibuprofen for the pain, it will also help if you have any swelling in the area, and keep up with the aloe and moisturizers. Wear the loosest clothes you can over the burned skin, but definately try to keep it covered whenever you have to go outside, even if it's just for a few minutes. Go to a doctor right away if you have any blistering on your skin so you don't risk infection. Other then than, just take it easy. You can try other remedies like oatmeal or creams made especially for sunburn, but they're just as effective as the aloe gels. You're just going to have to wait it out.

Self-Care/First Aid
Cool the affected area with clean towels, cloths or gauze dipped in cool water or take a cool bath or shower.
Take aspirin, acetaminophen, ibuprofen or naproxen sodium for pain and/or headache and to reduce fever. Note: Do not give aspirin or any medication that has salicylates to anyone 19 years of age or younger unless a doctor tells you to.
Use an over-the-counter topical steroid cream such as Cortaid if the pain lasts.
Rest in a cool, quiet room. Find a comfortable position.
Drink plenty of water.
Don't use local anesthetic creams or sprays that numb pain such as Benzocaine or Lidocaine. If you must use them, only use a little because they cause allergic reactions in some people.
Put sunscreen on and cover sunburned skin when you go in the sun again so you don't get burned more.
