What Do You Believe Causes Autism?!

Question: With all the studies and proof that the mercury in some vaccines can perhaps cause Autism and the debate over whether the MMR vaccine causes Autism, do you believe that too many vaccinations can cause Autism in a baby, toddler, or child?

The CDC (Center For Disease Control) is actually looking at the the fact that some vaccinations can cause autism if there is some sort of cell formation before the child is vaccinated. they are working on a test to detect the formation.

Also, if you are a parent, did you or will you vaccinate your children will all recommended vaccinations or will you only do the basic required ones. If you do them all, and i believe there are something from 14-20, will you space them out? If so, how long apart? Ex day... weeks... months...
This is a study I am doing for school. My results will be presented in numbers and your personal information will not be used. Thank you :)
Also if not vaccines, please state what you think causes Autism

My son has Autism. Through countless hours of research, talking with other parents and being the parent of a child with Autism I can tell you this is one of the BIG unanswered questions out there. There are tons of theorys but nothing yet proven. Our Government and CDC and AAP all work together and it all comes down to $. The Gov. CDC and AAP gets paid by the Drug companys to sell their product. More Vaccines equal more Money for everyone involved . There are 36 vaccines out there. The thought that to many to soon is a trigger in a child that may already have the genetic makeup to "get" Autism is one worth researching. It is like this, your body is not made to fight off 3 viruses at once but yet that is exactly what we do when we give our child 3 shots at once. Along with Fever,Viral Infections and other "triggers" this causes the child to just break. Their body can not handle all of this stuff coming at them all at once. I believe it is in the genes but also there is alot of things like vaccines and toxins that play a role in this disability. I believe my sons brain started with the Autism when he had his Flu Shot at 11 mths old and then became ill with a on and off fever that lasted several days. Also during that time he was taking Motrin and Tylenol concentrate which would not touch his fever and the market has now stopped with alot of the concentrated medicines. I believe then his 12 mth shots came and that was that. He was different non responsive to our voice. We thought he was deaf. With Therapy he has come along way since then. He is only 26 mths so time still must tell the final outcome. There is not enough being done to research this ...that is the main problem.
Personally my children are not getting anymore Vaccines. If I had to do it over I would not have done any. I am not convinced but the things that they put in this stuff and the steady rise is reason enough to wonder who's intrest is really at hand here?

My kids are 8,6,and 3 and have had all their vaccines and nothing seems to have happened but I know what you're talking about.Anything now a days is so scarey, especially when it comes down to our kids.

I believe that there is too much mercury in the vaccines. I believe that some kids get more than they need. My niece and nephews are not vaccinated. They have the exemption forms so they can go to school. They are healthy and never have they been sick.

hope i helped

I believe one thinks it's caused by abnormalities in brain structure or function. Partly it can be hereditary genetics and medical problems. In many families, I think there is a genetic basis to the disorder , some children are born with a susceptibility to autism, but nobody knows for sure what triggersautism to develop.

Some doctors say problems during pregnancy or delivery as well as environmental factors, such as viral infections, metabolic imbalances can be a cause.. but it's not sure...

xx

I think that the kids who react to the vaccine maybe have a weak gene which causes the reaction.

The others who are auistic I think may have inherited the condition from someone who is not a close relative (say distant uncle/aunt). Also we are now more able to diagnose and in the past may have just assumed an autistic person was "odd" or insane!

Here are a few interesting articles for more information.

I also encourage you to read raising a vaccine free child. Here is the link http://vaccinefreechild.com/

Hope this helps for your study and no I do not vaccinate my child - he has never had a shot.

My daughter has had all her shots....

My personal opinion is that different things may trigger autism is different people. Let's say potentially everyone has the "ability" to have autism. Most people are never exposed to their trigger and have "normal" lives. a few people are exposed to their trigger at birth (through complications, etc) or in early childhood (through vaccines, etc), thus leading to the development of autism in the person.

I believe my daughter has a mild form of autism, but it has not been offically diagnosed as of yet.

All autism is caused by trauma, usually at birth or at a critical stage of development--age two weeks or two months. You can do independent research either on the internet or talking to autistic adults directly, and you will find there is invariably an underlying trauma. Sometimes, in rare cases, the trauma is due to a bad reaction to vaccines. More commonly, though, one or more of the following is the trigger: Caesarean birth, premature birth, blindness in early infancy, surgery or severe illness shortly after birth, psychological shock (as in precociousness at birth), being born a twin, neglect at birth (as in Romanian orphanages), allergies to milk.

This research will be truly original, because it is politically-incorrect. If environmental determinants are involved, it means that some mothers *might* be to blame for their children's autism; and mothers of autistic kids have really guilty consciences--whether or not they have done anything wrong, they are apt to blame themselves. If some researcher comes along and mentions the obvious, he will get killed.

I just want to say that this question is a very interesting one. I also want to say that many of the answers are very useful to me...being a parent of an autistic child. I would like to add to this discussion in that it is NOT the parents fault, nor do I feel guilty for my child's autism. She did get all of her shots. I actually beleive she has always been autistic. I don't think her vaccines caused this disorder. She was born via c section with a milk allergy, although who knows what actually caused it. The most important thing is that i love my daughter and she is just like everyone else. We are all different in some way, and she gets some positive things out of this too. She has exceptional hearing and is learning everyday how to master social skills...ect... Thanks for asking this...it makes me think!
