Question: Does anyone know how to tell when you have chemical pneumonia!?
I used the Clorox Clean-Up stuff, with poor ventilation,(yeah it was dumb of me) now I can hardly breathe and my chest is killing me!.!.!.!.should I call my doctor, poison control, or the ER!? No other symptoms, just hard to breathe!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Another complication is an internal "burn," that may result in pneumonitis!. Inhalation of caustic vapors may actually burn the tissues, resulting in airway swelling, fluid buildup in the lungs, and severe respiratory distress!.
Lastly, patients may develop acute respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS), which may or may not be due to a chemical burn!. These patients often require emergent intubation and ICU care!.
