What would you do if you're Grandpa was in the hospital, dying from a heart !

Question: What would you do if you're Grandpa was in the hospital, dying from a heart attack!?
I am writing a childrens story (1-2 grade level) and in the story, a boy is very close to his Grandpa!. His Grandpa is a heavy smoker, and while the boy was in school, the Grandpa had a heart attack, and is now in the hospital, dying!. THe boy and his mom are at the hospital now, and the boy knows his Grandpa might not live much longer!. He goes up to the Grandpa, and---
That is all I have!. I know how I am going to end it, but I do not know what happens untill the Grandpa dies!.
How long, after an old person has a heart attack, does that person usually die!? Does it take a while, or could it be fast!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ironically something similar happened to me, however my grandfather had a massive heart attack and did not survive long enough to tell him I loved him!. I would have the boy come sit next to his grandpa and remind him of a story they had shared or maybe after the visit the boy goes home to sleep!. While sleeping he meets up with grandad for one last adventure (all in the dream)Www@Answer-Health@Com

It would depend on the type of heart attack and gramps age!. I would put it at a lesser level, but still have the gam die, after some encouraging words to the grandson!.
He walks up to his granpa, with tears in his eyes, and takes the old work worn hand in his!. He whispers Grampa, I'm here and feels a squeeze!. Grandpa opens his eyes, and smiles faintly, trying not to show the pain he feels!. He gives his grandson a wink and a smile!. Telling him he will always be with him and his mother!. To never be sad for him and to live life, enjoy all the wonderful things it has to offer, and to make sure he never smokes, Be good to his mother and to always be kind!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
