Question: I found out that i have pre cancer!?
cervix (sp!?) and hpv + what does all this meanWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
These are cells in your cervix that have the potential to develop into cancerous cells!. You will need to undergo a procedure that will basically "scrape" these cells off of your cervix!. A local anesthetic will be applied, but you will still feel some pressure and discomfort!. You will also need to go back in a few months to make sure that they aren't growing back again!. Once you're "in the clear", you will need to be strict about making annual visits to have pap smears done to make sure that the pre-cancerous cells have not come back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Basically, you're fine!. Dysplastic cells of the cervix are pre-cancerous cells, these are probably the ones the doctor(s) found!. It takes; in most cases, years for these cells to mutate into cancerous cells!. Pre cervical cancer changes can be removed via colposcopy and cryosurgery!.

HPV + is Human papillomavirus, basically, its an STI (Sexually Transmitted Infection) and having this STI increases your chance of getting a particular cancer!.!.Which might be why the doctors found PRE- cancer cells!.

About a dozen HPV types (including types 16, 18, 31 and 45) are called "high-risk" types because they can lead to cervical cancer, as well as anal cancer, vulvar cancer, and penile cancer!.[16] Several types of HPV, particularly type 16, have been found to be associated with oropharyngeal squamous-cell carcinoma, a form of head and neck cancer!.[Www@Answer-Health@Com

The pre-cancerous cells is caused by HPV which is a sexually transmitted disease and you got it from unprotected sex from some guy!. You will probably undergo a biopsy and then some sort of removal process like a culposcopy or they'll freeze the cancerous cells off!. Then you'll have a pap smear every 3 months for a year and if they all come back clean, then you can go back to your regular annual paps!. However you should practice safe sex from now on because you can now pass the HPV on to another man who can then pass it on to another woman and thus you'd basically be spreading the cancer to other people which isn't right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The Crusader gave an accurate answer, but there's more!. The scraping is called a bi-opsy!. They will analize the cells and depending on the "class" of cell displaysia that you have,
(cell displaysia being the abnormal cells) will determine if you need to have them removed, or if they will just monitor them with regular check-ups!. I had what's called a leep!. They burn off the abnormal cells with a kind of heated razor instrument!. I had to have that done because my cell dispalysia was a class 4!. Class 5 is cancerous or malignant!. The bi-opsy will also determine how deep the displaysia is, and normally, if it is deep, they will go ahead and remove them as well!. I was fine for 11 years after that!. Then they re-appeared!. But this time with only a class 2!. They again removed mine, but this time it was because the displaysia was in the opening of my cervix, and too close to my uterus!. This may not be the case for you, but I hope it helps!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
