About colon cancer ...please Help !!!!!!?!

Question: About colon cancer !.!.!.please Help !!!!!!!?
My 34 yrs old sister just had her surgery for colon cancer her surgon told us that he did not see any suspicious thing while he was doing the surgery!. He took 51 lymph nodes and from those 9 of them were cancerious her liver and other organs around there are normal according to the scan except a little bit dots on her lungs which her doctors believe it is not cancer!. so i was wondering what stage she is !? and i just wanna know what cancer in her lymph nodes means and will she be cured with treatement!? thanks u all !!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
stage III / stage C

It means its spread outside of the bowel, but not to other organs!. Its possible shes completely cured or that theres a tiny bit left!. Which is what the chemo is for, which will hopefully kill any remaining cancer cells!.

I was told to be at that stage and including chemo, theres a 65% success rate of it not coming back!. Thats what my surgeons told me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lymph nodes are parts of the endocrine system!. Lymph nodes act as filters or traps for foreign particles and contain white blood cells!. They are also cancer "hot spots" because since their job is to filter, cancerous cells that might be trying to spread get stuck there!. I can't tell you what stage her cancer is, but I can tell you my mom had colon cancer and, especially if caught early, it is one of the easiest types to cure!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i dont konw the stage
however it sounds like it was cured or removed
go on and live it up and thank God
pray for healing and that it never returns againWww@Answer-Health@Com

I will be totally honest with you if her colon was resectioned they'll want to wait until she's healed before beginning treatment!. My mother has colon cancer she had a resection in july began chemo in oct!. Her oncologist told her that radiation really isn't effective!. The fact that it has reaching her lymph nodes shows that it is advanced, but Thank Jesus it has not researched her lymph nodes!. Ask the doctor to do a pet scan if she begins to have severe stomach pain!. If there is a problem in another area it may not show up on a ct scan or in a colonoscopy!. My mother had a colonoscopy in feb that gave us false hope b/c it showed no signs of cancer the problem was that the tumor was outside of her colon!. Since your sister is below the normal age for colon screenings and if you have a family history please get your self checked out and ask about genetic testing!. My mother was diagnosed at age 48 day before her 49th birthday so I have to begin screenings 10 yrs prior to the date of her diagnosis!. The most important thing you can do for your sister other than prayer is to simply be their for her as much as she'll allow!. My mother's tumor is in operable we found out yesterday and the hospital has decided to dump her!. Right now I am her support system!. Ask as mention questions as you can and do as much research as possible, make sure her doctors know you by name!. The standard chemo is the 5fu drugs and lecovorin!. if you have more questions feel free to email me!. She needs to be refered to an oncologist who will discuss staging!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Her stage with more than four regional lymph nodes positive would be "stage IIIC" - - which means she will probably be receiving chemotherapy to decrease her risk of recurrence!.
Her oncologist will be discussing the chances of recurrence with your sister!. If your sister agrees, you might want to be present for this discussion!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The staging commonly done is by TNM or Duke's system in colon cancer!.
In either case the involvement lymphnodes is in a setting of advanced disease, just before systemic spread!.
Now she needs chemotherapy!. The chemotherapy lessens and delays the chance of recurrence!.
Ask your sister to discuss regarding all the chemotherapy alternatives with the possible side effects!.
Remember the chemotherapy would be lasting long and help prepare your sister and family psychologically!. If possible join some local cancer group!.
The prognosis in colon cancer is much better than many cancers, therefore, don't get disheartened!.
All the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Colon cancer as it is curable!. But if it spreads to
the liver and nearby organs, there is little chance
for survival!. your sister has to go thru chemotherapy to control the spread of cancer to
other parts from colon!. A single cancer cell
remaining in her body after surgery and removal of the major part can do the damage!. So immediate administration of chemotherapy can
destroy the cancerous cells!. Hope for the best

Nobody can tell you for sure that she will be cured from cancer!. But we all that are answering you here , are hoping that she will be well treated and it will help her!.
From what you wrote, I appreciate stage 2 toward 3!.
In majority of cases , colon cancers are cured!.
I strongly recommend give her each day to eat at least one apple with skin
I personally wish her total health soon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
