Question: What causes diabetes and how do i know if i have it!?
Answers:
Well, I personally dont have it, but my mom and grandma do, so I have lived with people who have it my whole life!.

What happens when you have diabetes is that your pancreas doesn't give off enough insulin to break down all the glucose (sugar) in your body!. Therefore, the sugar stays in your body making your blood sugar levels unbalanced!. The more sugar, the higher the sugar level!. If this happens, most likely you can take pills to balance it out, or take insulin to help your pancreas work better!. But sometimes, the medicine helps get rid of the sugar too fast, causing an extreme drop in your blood sugar!. When that happens, you get very shaking and your vision blurrs and the possibility of blacking out occurs as well!. To help raise it, you should eat or drink foods with a large amount of sugar!. (i!.e!. candy, orange juice, cookies, etc!.) My grandma has had drop to the 30s before, and usually if it goes that low, you are put into a coma!. Fortunately, that didnt happen to her, she just passed out!. It is supposed to stay between 80 and about 110ish!.

This disease is very unpredictable, but the best way to keep track of your sugar is to test it several times a day!. From when you wake up to before you eat every meal, even before you go to bed, go out, and after you eat!. Diabetes slowly destroys your body because the high, unbalanced blood sugar levels throw off the balance of your body just like bases and acids throw off the pH levels in a pool!.

There are some symptoms like for example, you may urinate a lot, your weight drops really fast, your fingers and legs tingle, you are tired, extremely thirsty and no matter how much and how many times you eat in a day, you are constantly hungry!. If you experience any of these symptoms and you are unsure if you have diabetes, go to your doctor, explain what you have been experiencing, and they will give you a blood test and a urine test to check if you are positive for it!.

That is about it, I hope it helped you out a little bit!!!! :]

And if you asked this because you are worried that you or someone else in your family has diabetes, I pray that no one has it!!! Peace outWww@Answer-Health@Com

Type 2 diabetes is "insulin resistance" - your cells just won't let anymore insulin in - and because of that they won't let sugar in!. So a diabetic is starving amid plenty - they tend to binge on sugar trying to get some sugar into their cells!.

You can get checked by the doctor for this quite easily!. Check out the Atkins diet - he created it specifically with diabetes in mind, and he has elaborate descriptions of diabetes in his books

If you have been diagnosed with diabetes, or you fear developing diabetes, you may want to know what causes it!. At one time, nobody knew what caused diabetes, but after years of research, we do now know what causes diabetes, and in many cases, how to prevent it!.

The leading cause of diabetes was once thought to be inheriting it through the blood lines!. This is still a major cause of diabetes, but no longer the leading cause!. If someone in your blood line has diabetes -- particularly in the direct blood line of the generation before you, you are at a higher risk of developing diabetes!.

The leading cause of diabetes, however, is being overweight!. When you are overweight, your body becomes more resistant to insulin!. This is particularly true if your BMI, or Body Mass Index, is greater than 30%!. If you don't know your BMI, measure your waist!. If you are female and your waist is bigger than 35 inches, or if you are male and your waist is bigger than 40 inches, you are at risk of developing diabetes!.

Whether you are overweight or not, eating a poor diet is a cause of diabetes!. Your diet should be high in protein and fiber, and if it isn't, you are at risk!. Leading a sedentary lifestyle is also a factor!. You need to be exercising at least three times a week, for 30 minutes each time, and preferably 30 minutes a day, five days a week!.

Recent research has discovered that infections, such as strephylococci, can also lead to diabetes!. Age is being blamed as well!. As you get older, your chances of developing diabetes increase!. Furthermore, just as diabetes can lead to high blood pressure, suffering from hypertension can lead to diabetes!. There are also numerous drugs that can actually aid in the development of diabetes, such as Clozapine, Risperidone, Olanzapine, Ziprasidone, and Quetiapine!.

If any of these situations apply to you, you should get tested for diabetes!. You should also take steps to make lifestyle changes to avoid the development of diabetes
