it's not possible to comment on cough; there are varients of cough!. You have to be specific, unless you will not get the right solution!. only chest X-ray report is not a conclusive investigation!. And taking different types of medicine without any prescription and specially taking helbal or these kinda medicine is not safe for healt!. It may damage your liver!. For you my best advice will be, consult with and chest/respiratory medicine specialist as early as possible, as because cough for 4 months is not a good sign!. About 10 yrs ago I was coughing for 6 months, tried all the antibiotics etc which did not work!. TB test etc all clear!. In desperation I tried my own nature remedies!. I made my home made chyawanprash by mixing honey with turmeric powder, clove powder, amla [embellic officinalis] powder, ginger powder and had this concoction 3 times a day along with fresh raw garlic and fresh raw ginger and lots of hot water!. Eventually after a month, the coughing subsided and eventually petered off!. I continued with the therapeutic dosage for quite a few years, then later started having commercial Dabur Chawanyprash 1 tsp in the morning!. I have not had a recurrence since, but any time I feel the slightest sensation of cough or URTI, I immediately start honey with fresh ginger and fresh garlic in large doses to nip it in the bud!. Check your blood for CBC,blood sugar,blood urea,HIV!.If they are normal along with X-ray chest,it may be either allergic or GERD=gastro esophageal reflux disease!. Then you can take medicines after consulting your physician!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

what kind of cough!? is it dry or do you cough up phlegm!? have you tried a humidifier yet!? if you havent, try it when your asleep at night!. you can pick them up for about $15 at walgreens!. put some eucalyptus oil in with the water too!. also, delsym cough medicine works well for an OTC product!. but you may need to go to the doc and get a prescription for a stronger medication, something that has codeine in it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
