Skin irritations like this can be caused by many things, could be from sweating, could be detergent as you mentioned, but chances are, his could be from stress! People lose hair from stress, break out in acne, or hives, or little itchy or painful bumps, etc!.!.
Have the doctor put him on a low no side effect anti depressant/anti anxiety med like Lexapro, after about 2 weeks, see if this skin problem goes away, if it does then you know it is stress related!. Try to eliminate one possible cause at a time!. You tried the detergent switch so you know this is not it, any foods maybe that he has been eating lately!? Any yard work he has done, maybe a tree or bush, shrub that he may have come into contact with!? Allergic reactions can surface at anytime and any age even if you never had them before in your life!. Same with allergies, sinus problems!.
Weigh each thing out one at a time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
