Is it okay to put gauze over a blistered burn?!

Question: Is it okay to put gauze over a blistered burn!?
I have a 2nd degree burn on my arm and I don't want everyone to see it (it's kinda gross looking)!. So, I want to cover it up, but I don't want the blisters to burst and cause an infection!. Is it safe and okay to wrap gauze around the burn!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
My opinion would be to pop the blister using a small needle, drain it, and then cover it!.

If you use a small needle at the base that is the best thing to do!.

Bring the needle to a flame for 2 seconds, this will sterilize it!.

Then, a gauze is the best thing do, I wouldn't advise putting it over the blister, and make sure the lasceration to the blister is small!.

This is what your general practitioner would say!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if u use an burn oinment under the guazeWww@Answer-Health@Com

Depends how the wound is!. Bacteria thrive in environments that are dark, moist and warm!. It'll already be dark under the gauze, so if the wound is moist and still warm to the touch, may not be a great idea, especially once it's popped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, but please BE CAREFUL!

You can cover the burn with a sterile gauze bandage!. Don't use fluffy cotton, which may irritate the skin!. Wrap the gauze loosely to avoid putting pressure on burned skin!. Bandaging keeps air off the burned skin, reduces pain and protects blistered skin!. Watch for signs of infection, such as increased pain, redness, fever, swelling or oozing!. If infection develops, seek medical help!.

Whatever you do:
* Don't use ice!. Putting ice directly on a burn can cause frostbite, further damaging your skin!.
* Don't apply butter or ointments to the burn!. This could prevent proper healing!.
* Don't break blisters!. Broken blisters are vulnerable to infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
