My dad has fatty ciroshsis of the liver and just found out in Dec.. he is 78...n!


Question: My dad has fatty ciroshsis of the liver and just found out in Dec!.!. he is 78!.!.!.not a drinker!?
since then he has had verices surgery and lots of fluid, taking lots of diaretics and is very weak and also has #2diabetes!. The dr!. tells us some and so does the internet!. My family and I would just like to know where we could get simple questions answered about his illness!. we know he is very ill but, he is not in the end stages yet, no yellowing etc!.my mom gets worried about him, little things happen u never know when, such as the weakness, one day he is ok then he cannot hardly stand!.!.is this norm!? All his vitals are good!. He has lost lots of weight, we never know how he is going to feel from day to day!.!.!.
Has anyone here had to deal with this illness and if so, where can I get infomation on simple things to watch for or etc!.!.!?!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My grandmother had cirrhosis of the liver!. She lived quite a while with it!. The major thing with cirrhosis is to take your medications!. The problem with cirrhosis is that your liver is meant to filter out the toxins from getting into your body and with cirrhosis it can't do that effectively!.

Good luck! Just remember, he needs to take his meds as the doctor has ordered them!. Since he's diabetic he needs to be checking his blood sugar on a regular basis, at least before meals and at bedtime!. He will do OK if he takes care of himself!Www@Answer-Health@Com
