Question: I think I might have diabetes!?!?!?
I have been realy thirsty lately and lost a few pounds!. Im constintly having to go to the bathroom because of all the water that im drinking and have been kinda moody!. What do you think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
- I'm diabetic, so I understand what you're talking about

- when I first started showing symptoms, I was constantly thirsty, and I mean almost 24/7, resulting in me having to go to the bathroom frequently

- I felt moody sometimes!.!.!. which I know now is caused by high blood sugar

- sometimes I felt starving!.!.!. I would shake, stumble, and sometimes not make any sense when I spoke!.!.!. which is a sign of low blood sugar

- if you ever feel like you have low blood sugar, drink juice or consume something sugary right away!. I don't mean to scare you, but if diabetics have low bloodsugar, they could go into a coma if it's not treated with sugar (carbs work too, but sugar is fast-acting)

- I absolutely recommend you see a doctor a!.s!.a!.p!., because this is a serious situation!.!.!. it could affect you severely in the long run if you don't take care of it

- remember, don't panic! you're okay for now!.!.!. just make sure to get on this case real soon

I sincerely wish you good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

but the best thing to do is go to a doctor and express your concerns with him/her and go from there!.
if you do have diabetes!.!.it would be no good diagnosing your self here!
or you could have something else completely different!.
either way!.!.go to the doctors!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you should see a doctor, it could be a number of things!. For example hyperthyroidism can cause all the symptoms you have!. Get it checked out, then you'll know for sure! Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think if you are concerned you should go see your doctor!. It would be better to go find out for sure, rather than sitting around being worried and maybe causing harm to yourself!. Good Luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You have a couple symptoms, but I'm not a doctor!. If I were you, I'd go and have a blood glucose test done!.!.!. Or I'd go buy some Ketostix to test for ketones in the urine!. You can buy them at any local pharmacy and they're not expensive!. Just incase:

There are two types of diabetes, Type 1 and Type 2!. Although they are both forms of diabetes, they are two different diseases!. Only 5% of all diabetics have type 1!.

Type 1 is an auto-immune disease and usually occurs in childhood, which is why it's also called Juvenile Diabetes!. It's not caused from eating too much junk food, sugar, or having a poor lifestyle!. There is nothing you can do to prevent type 1 diabetes and there is currently no cure, although scientists say they are very close!.

Type 2 on the other hand, usually developes in adults and developes slowy over a period of time!. This is usually caused by obesity or by poor diet and lifestyle!. Type 2 actually can be prevented!.

Here are some of the symptoms of Type 1 diabetes!. Some of them might apply to type 2 also, but I'm not completely sure!.!.!.

*Increased thirst
*Frequent urination
*Increased appetite
*Drowsiness, Lethargy
*Sudden weight loss
*Sugar in urine
*Sudden vision changes
*Heavy, labored breathing
*Stupor, Unconsciousness
*Fruity, Sweet, or wine - like odor on breath

Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Has someone recently mentioned the symptoms!? WHen you start worrying about something, you suddenly start feeling the symptoms because of anxiety!. I think you are just a little scared that you do!. Wait a week or two!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The bset thing to do is see your doctor or practice nurse!. There are some chemists that offer free diabetes tests!.!. Either way you will get more answers from them!. Better than trying to self diagnose, which can lead to its own problems!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You could go to the store and look for a keytone tester and see what your keytones areWww@Answer-Health@Com

I think you need to talk to your mother if you are worried!. She is the one who will make you an appointment with the doctor!.

Contrary to popular opinion, MOTHERS don't bite when you go to them with worries and concerns!.

Type 1 diabetes is usually diagnosed in hospital after patient has become very very ill and is in intensive care from going into or nearly into a coma from high glucose levels!. This is because the pancreas suddenly quits working for you!.

Type 2 develops over a period of time!. It is not dependent on bad food choices, obesity, laziness, being a couch potato!. It happens in very active people who eat according to the government's food pyramid more often than to fat lazy peoples!. The bod decides not to use the natural insulin, so the glucose for muscle health just goes floating off in the blood stream instead of feeding the muscles!.

Now quit worrying and go talk to your mother!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Diabetes Overview

Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a set of related diseases in which the body cannot regulate the amount of sugar (specifically, glucose) in the blood!.

Glucose in the blood gives you energy to perform daily activities, walk briskly, run for a bus, ride your bike, take aerobic exercise class, and perform your day-to-day chores!.

From the foods you eat, glucose in the blood is produced by the liver (an organ on the right side of the abdomen near your stomach)!.

In a healthy person, the blood glucose level is regulated by several hormones, including insulin!. Insulin is produced by the pancreas, a small organ between the stomach and liver!. The pancreas secretes other important enzymes that help to digest food!.

Insulin allows glucose to move from the blood into liver, muscle, and fat cells, where it is used for fuel!.

People with diabetes either do not produce enough insulin (type 1 diabetes) or cannot use insulin properly (type 2 diabetes), or both (which occurs with several forms of diabetes)!.

In diabetes, glucose in the blood cannot move into cells, so it stays in the blood!. This not only harms the cells that need the glucose for fuel, but also harms certain organs and tissues exposed to the high glucose levels!.
Type 1 diabetes: The body stops producing insulin or produces too little insulin to regulate blood glucose level!.

Type 1 diabetes comprises about 10% of total cases of diabetes in the United States!.

Type 1 diabetes is typically recognized in childhood or adolescence!. It used to be known as juvenile-onset diabetes or insulin-dependent diabetes mellitus!.

Type 1 diabetes can occur in an older individual due to destruction of pancreas by alcohol, disease, or removal by surgery!. It also results from progressive failure of the pancreatic beta cells, which produce insulin!.

People with type 1 diabetes require daily insulin treatment to sustain life!.
Type 2 diabetes: The pancreas secretes insulin, but the body is partially or completely unable to use the insulin!. This is sometimes referred to as insulin resistance!. The body tries to overcome this resistance by secreting more and more insulin!. People with insulin resistance develop type 2 diabetes when they do not continue to secrete enough insulin to cope with the higher demands!.

At least 90% of patients with diabetes have type 2 diabetes!.

Type 2 diabetes is typically recognized in adulthood, usually after age 45 years!. It used to be called adult-onset diabetes mellitus, or non
