Question: Can I donate blood!? Can I donate my eggs!?
My grandmother died from Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS)!. Alot of my family members have died from it!. My mother doesnt seem tp have it and she is 36 years old!. she looks clean and my 30 year old aunt doesnt either!. I want to donate blood but I dont want run into this problem in the clinic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

als is not transmitted via transfusion, it is a genetically inherited disease!. You can donate blood, but I wouldn't donate your eggs, they carry the gene!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You probably wont run into any problems, but the only way to really find out is to just go and do it!. Donating eggs can pay over $1000 but there are weird guidelines!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
They test your blood and ask questions before they accept it into the blood bank-and long before it is used on another human being!. (atleast I hope!)Www@Answer-Health@Com

As for your eggs, you are welcome to donate them, and you might turn a pretty good mint for them iffin ya wanted to!. There are many conditions which a potential blood donor must NOT have to be accepted!. For a specific question, such as ALS, call your local hospital blood bank donor center or the American Red Cross donor center nearest you and ask for the "screening criteria!."
