High diastolic blood pressure...?!

Question: High diastolic blood pressure!.!.!.!?
I checked my blood pressure today and on the left arm it was 119/93 and the right arm was 120/90, both manually!. I can't figure out why!. I'm a 23 year old Asian female!. I have a "healthy" BMI!. I exercise two hours a day, keep my daily sodium intake below 1200 mg!. The only medicine I'm taking right now is Ibuprofen 800 mg three times a day for ulnar tunnel!. I eat a low-fat, low-calorie diet (25 grams, 1500 calories) I don't drink soda or coffee!. I'll have a cup of tea maybe 3 or 4 times a week!. The only thing I can think of is my dad is hyptertensive and genetics suck!. Lol!. What's the deal and how can I lower it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
120/80 is normal bp!. Your diastolic is high, but not that high!. Its sounds to me like you are doing everything right!. The issue may very well be your family tree!. I've pretty much done everything right myself, (I am more than 20 years older than you, however) but my Dad and Grandma both had high BP and I have been on meds for the past 3 years with not much hope of getting off of them!.

Don't panic- you are young and doing all the right things!. If you are very concerned, go see your dr!.

Also, you could start tracking your bp at different times of the day and see what your readings are like!. Do you have alot of stress in your life!? That could cause the readings to spike!.

When I was first diagnosed my bp was 164/120- so feel fortunate that yours is much lower than that!.

Good luck and take care!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Firstly, you shouldn't build your diagnosis as hypertensive on one measurement only, rather it must be the mean of 3 measurements in different days and times!. Also, your diastolic pressure is not such high to conclude hypertension, may be called "high normal" and it's subject for trial of changing lifestyle and food habits more aggressively to obtain optimum one!. Finally, there are some studies and opinions calling for a relation between NSAIDs like Ibuprofen and hypertension, and you can review the linked article!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its probably genetics and if you really don't want to take pills and do it naturally if possible, I would go to a holistic health practitioner to see if they have something to lower it!. You could also try biofeedback, acupuncture etc!.!.!.!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
