Advair Inhaler Question?!

Question: Advair Inhaler Question!?
Hey yall
im in a really bad cold and my asthma hasnt been well controlled under the lowest dose of Advair so my doc bumped me up to 250/50 or whatever the next up one is!.

My question is will this higher steroid cause my face to get "puffy" like swallowed steroids do!?
Thanks!.
Also, if there are any remedies to minimize my coughing associated with this nasty cold, please tell me those as well!.

Thanks yall
ciao for now,

Sorry that your not feeling good!. The Advair 250/50 will not make your face get puffy!. Only the oral steroid to that as they affect your entire body!. Inhaled steriods only affect the lungs with very little effecdt on the rest of the body!. You can actually go to a higher dose (500/50) if this one isn't doing the job!. If you do end up on the higher dose and it doesn't do the job ask about leukotiene inhibitors!. They stop the swelling of the airways in severe asthmatics in conjuciton with inhaled medications!.
For the cough you could ask your doctor for a prescription cough medicine with codiene if your not allergic to suppress it but not high on the recommendation list!. Robitussin DM is one of the better brands and works fairly well!. Keep well hydrated by drinking plenty of plain water, soup broth or juice!. Avoid other people who are ill to prevent a secondary infection!. You can also try sucking hard candies to keep you throat moist and thus reducing the irritation!. Best lf luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I apply a mixture of honey and vanilla ice cream to my face!. It reduces swelling and boosts the immune system!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I've been on 250/50 Advair for over six months and have not had any facial swelling!. I have gained weight, but have started to lose it now!. Doctor said that the Advair would increase appetite, so to "fight" it!. I have, and now the scale is going down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
