Has anyone else experienced this "heart thing"?!

Question: Has anyone else experienced this "heart thing"!?
First off I'm 40 years old!. Just so you know I'm not some kid!.

I've had this "heart thing" on and off (mostly off) for 20 years!. It feels like my heart does one big pump in the middle of my chest and then my head feels pressure - kind of like when you get a shot of addrenaline - but within 1 or 2 seconds everything is fine!. This has been happening (again) for the last several days!.

I was having this problem 20 years ago!. I was in the doctors office (general prac) while having episodes!. He checked my heart rate, blood pressure, etc!.!.!. and said I was fine!.

It doesn't hurt, it's just irritating!.!.!.and of course it makes me wonder if there really is something wrong with my heart!.

I'm just wondering if anyone else has had these symptoms or something similar as it's really hard to describe how it feels!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
this sounds like skipped heart beats, it's perfectly normal, even the healthiest of hearts get the odd skipped beats!. Simple cause's such as caffiene, stress, anxiety, tobacco, alchahol, they are very rarely harmfull!. Infact doctors dont even mention skipped heart beats when reffering you or anything like that, because they arnt anything un-common!. They can be a little scary, but getting worked up over them will cause more stress and anxiety!. But yeah, if your doctor says your fine, then most likely you are infact fine!. But if your still concerned, ask to have an ECG done just to comfirm your fine!. Just remember that the hearts extremely complicated and it will do unexpected things from time to time, and it's often nothing to worry about!.

Hope this has helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm seventeen, and i get that feeling quite frequently too!. I've been worrying about it!. But nothing has went wrong with me so far!. My dad is a doctor and he told me that it's perfectly fine!. Nothing to be alarmed about!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

maybe you are having PAT's which are premature atrial contractions!. They are benign rhythm problems!. If you are concerned they can put a 24 hr monitor on you and see for sure!. When I have one it feels like my heart skips a beat and then the next beat is extra strong with a head rush!. good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Ive felt what youre describing before!. All of a sudden it felt like one really intense heart beat, like it could burts out of my chest!. I remember in highschool feeling it often for a year or so!. I hardly feel it now and I'm 27!.!. maybe a few times a year!.

I think its heart palpatations!. I cant really give you any advice!.!. but look that up and see if you think you should see a doctor!.!.!. I never did because it went away before I thought to!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

IF I WERE YOU ---I GO SEE A CARDIOLOGIST AND FIND OUT FOR SURE WHAT HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR 20 YEARSWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm 43, and I too, get those weird heart things!. Have for a long time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with Marianne - sounds like a PAC (Premature Atrial Contraction)!. I've had 'em since I was 17 and I'm 48 now!. They're considered harmless, though I find them really disconcerting sometimes! For me, the things that can make them more frequent are too much caffiene, not enough sleep, stress, hangover (lol), overeating, or undereating (letting my blood sugar drop)!. So, I just try keep a handle on that stuff!. Sometimes, though, they just happen!.

I wouldn't worry about it, but I'd tell your doc about it next time you see him/her for something else, as it's always good to be cautious!.

I will say that when I was in my early 20s, my husband and I did vigorous cardio exercise for 30-45 minutes every day for a month (lol and then gave it up)!. After that, I didn't have an episode for 2 years!.!.!.the longest period in my life without them!.
