If it is hsv-1 it is most likely from a partner's oral infection, yes, since oral hsv-1 is a lot more common and more infectious than genital hsv-1!.

However, if you have hsv-1 down there, it does mean you have genital herpes - because it is on your genitals!. It is a slightly milder form of genital herpes, but it is still genital herpes complete with all the stigma people attach to that!.

However, the advantage is that people with oral hsv-1 (a majority of the population) are extremely unlikely to catch it from you!.

It is also a lot less infectious than either an oral hsv-1 or a genital hsv-2 infection!.

Oral hsv-1 is infectious about five times as much of the time, and genital hsv-2 nearly as many times more infectious!. Oral hsv-1 is infectious about 18% of the time, genital hsv-2 about 16% of the times, and genital hsv-1, 3-4% of the time!.

The combination of most people already having hsv-1 and genital hsv-1 not being very active means that you are much less likely to spread it to a partner - but if your partner has never had cold sores it can still happen, if you are unlucky!.

I find people aren't at all bothered by hsv-1!. I tell people it is the same virus as cold sores just less infectious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think the best thing you can do is to talk to your Doctor again, as he is the one who can give you the right answers that you are looking for!. All the best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Herpes simplex type 1 can occur ANYWHERE on the body yes even down there!. If the infection is on the genitalia then yes you have genital herpes!. Type 1 is easily spread during oral sex!. Even if the person you were with isn't showing any visible symptoms on or around the mouth!. If you shave in your pubic area you are at more of a risk since the virus can enter a microscopic cut!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It did come from a cold sore from someones mouth, but it means you have type 1 in your genital area, which means you have genital herpes and can spread genital herpes to anyone else whether it be in their mouth of genital area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it may have come from a cold sore or it may have come from intercourse with someone that had genital herpes type 1!. The virus spread via skin to skin contacted with an infected area!. The type 1 virus can exist in the genital area although it usually occurs around the mouth!. I contracted genital herpes via oral sex from someone prone to cold sores so it can happen!.

I is cold sores or oral herpes!. That is what type 1 is!. But if someone who had it, and gave you oral sex, then it would be considered type 1 in your genitals!.

Same in reverse with type 1!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No matter which type u have it!.!.!.if it's from your waist down, then it's genital herpes!. so what!? u doesn't worst less because u have herpes!. U are the same person ever!.
And, my particular opinion is, once u are taking VALTREX and wearing condom, there is no point to tell anybody, it's a personal issue that u have!
