Having mole removed/scraped?!

Question: Having mole removed/scraped!?
im having two moles removed in a few weeks under local anesthetic, all ive been told is they will be scraped and leave a scar x3 bigger than the moles, i havnt been told if they will be totally scraped out or just the raised layer on them!. one is about the size of a pound coin and raised!. A plastic surgeon is doing the procedure!. Could anyone tell me their experiences or what they think might happen in my case or websites with useful info would be great to!. thanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

I don't know why the scar would be 3x the size of the original mole!. I've had a couple removed the first one was done by a regular doctor the mole was about the size of a pencil eraser and ended up with 13 stitches and a HUGE scar that was closed sloppily!.

Later when I went to a dermatologist I've had a few removed over several years, he would scrape them first then send them in to the lab to be tested, then if they come back atypical he cores them which just invloves one or two stitches!. The scar is never much bigger than the original mole!.

Both are relatively painless, scraping simply removes the skin layer and it forms a scab and heals in a couple weeks!. Sometimes it feels a little sore for a couple days!. The only problem I've had with scraping is sometimes they come back, so if you're getting them removed for appearance reasons you might want to ask your doctor about that, I get mine removed for health reason and it's still upsetting when they come back!.
Just remember to change the band-aids every day, I do it after I shower in the morning, and use neosporin to prevent infection!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i have had tags removed with a laser slight bleeding and little painful!.your is more serious,my sister had a big mole removed from under her chin and it had long roots that went up and around her jaw bone ,she has a very small scare that is hardly noticeable!.you didn't say where yours are , if they won't be noticed by others than i wouldn't worry about it!.they can do skin grafts if its on your face and will leave you with large scaring!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
