Question: My mom is refusing to go to dialysis!?
i'am worried about my mom she is refusing to go to dialysis she is in a nursing home she does have alzheimers are dementia i should say i and my sister's are getting togeater tonight to talk about what we should do i dont want my mom to die help what to do please;Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont know your situation our the health of your mom but she really needs dialysis!. On the other hand, I dont how much dementia your mom has and/or what her wishes were before she got mentally and more physically ill!. You have to weigh all those factors!. Your doctor will be able to look at where she in in her kidney failure and tell you what to expect in terms of time if dialysis is not chosen!. You need to have a family meeting with your doctor to discuss your mom's current state of health, her wishes and the risk benefits of dialysis right now and risks if not done!. You did not mention if she can decide on her own or if she has a power of attorney (POA) for healthcare yet!. If she has Alzheimer's and can't make the decision for herself, it is up to your family and the POA to decide!. I wish the best for your mom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you have power of attorney you have a place to start talking about what can be done, with the hospital staff!. The law cannot force a person to submit to medical care!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
