i am only 13 and i am getting kemo i hate it because i am going to lose all my hair i know that i am i am guy but i have long hair and i love it that way!. how long do you think it will take to grow back there only going to give it to me for 5 daysWww@Answer-Health@Com

I can relate!. I am 54 and had a long pony tail for 32 of those!. Unforunately, I had radiation and chemo for eight weeks!. All I lost was the ponytail!. DANG That was finished eight weeks ago, and it has just now grown about a half inch long!.
If five days chemo is all you are getting, you probably won't lose enough hair to sweat about!. It may thin out a lot, but hang in there!. Don't cut it and see what you lose!. I was also on steroids, and what is coming back is darker and thicker!.

Well that all depends on if the cancer goes away!. If the cancer doesn't go then they will keep treating you but don't worry, it will probably take about 6 to 10 weeks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Not everyone loses their hair from chemotherapy!. Much will depend on the type of chemo treatment you have, the length of time you have it, and the type of hair you have!. Some chemo causes hair loss because it targets any type of cell within the body that is growing!. The chemo cannot tell the difference between a growing cancer cell and a growing hair cell and attacks both!. If the chemo works for your type of cancer than the hair loss will be a small price to pay!. Your hair will return once you stop chemotherapy !. !. it begins to grow back almost immediately!. It will depend on how fast your hair grows back normally !. !. but usually expect it to grow around the rate of half an inch every month!. In the meantime you can wear caps, hats, scarves, beanies !. !. or go bare headed !. !. it never bothered my son!. He lost his hair two or three times and it always grew back!. The last chemo he had actually didn't cause hair loss !. !.it caused loss of pigmentation and he ended up with white hair!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Dont worry, I just finished chemo and my hair is growing back already!. It will come in fast and since you are so young, it will probably come in faster than my hair!. I know you love your hair, I love mine too!. There are really cool guys that shave their hair real short for sports!. My nephew gives himself a crew cut every summer!. The hospital will know where you can get a wig!. Probably at no cost!. Don't know which drug they are going to use, so don't have any idea about it's effects!. Talk to the doctor about how long it will take!. Also, talk to him about School and "Chemo brain"!. Let your teachers know what he says!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
